Tookes said he first learned something was going on in January when he received a call from Dr. George Brown at the Farragut Animal Clinic in Knoxville. At Clinton Highway Veterinary Hospital, Snow said the back-to-back burglaries were the first he had experienced.

As the summer went on and the break continued, Tookes consulted with vets about what more could be done. Cory added in an interview that the case appeared to be an inside job because the clinic's office manager did not return to work the next day, or never did, though that suspicion was never confirmed. Tookes bought the idea, but no donations were received long before the Tennessee VMA collectively suspended the $10,000 reward.
The college's laboratory and animal facilities received full accreditation, and the building housing the veterinary program was inaugurated in 2009, named after the late Dr. John T. In 2010, the college received full accreditation status, an accolade it maintained even in subsequent reviews of accreditations.
The burglars also left time for $45 cash in the till and left the store with chilled medicines, vaccines and controlled drugs that were secured in a safe, Snow said. Buddy, a miniature schnauzer from Kentucky, was awarded the "Best in Show" award by the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association.

Of course, some of our parasite prevention measures have some kind of street or gray market value, but that doesn't make it easy to steal them. At least we have no warehouses in sight, which makes it harder to sell and easier to identify and restore.
Have the police check the area if you get the dreaded call at 1am, but don't assume it's just a getaway artist or a border crosser. Otherwise, say, you put two more thugs on the street, which took place after the arrest of the suspect and a few hours later.
