Artist Bio
"Art is the reason I get up in the morning, my definition ends there" -Ani Difranco I graduated from Converse College in May of 2008 with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. I am now currently working for McAlister's Deli, and trying to show my work as much as possible on the side. I am a graduate of Farragut High School (2004) and owe my drive and knowledge of art to my beloved art teacher Melynda Whetsel! I love all my art teachers from high school, and am very grateful for the opportunities we had at Farragut. Entering college I had taken 12 art classes at Farragut, and Converse proved to enhance my knowledge a little more everyday. I hope to go back to school and get my Master of Fine Arts, but until then I am learning how to balance life with a full time job and producing art which is all I want to be doing. I use to be able to say I mostly worked with ceramics, but working to pay bills and trying to get in my studio has proven to be difficult. I have been doing a lot of painting out of my dining room which I enjoy equally as much. I love working with porcelain and oils, although I do not limit myself to just those materials. I paint and draw from things I can reference; I'm not big on just painting out of my head. I enjoy painting objects that have life. Actually most of my work to this point in my life has been the female nude, but I hope to soon branch out more soon.
Above all else I hope others appreciate the work I do as much as I do.
